School Eye Screening Outreach Camp at Government Elementary School, Gujrat
CSHM Hospital Gujrat successfully organized a free school eye screening outreach camp at Government Elementary School, Dheerky Kalan, reaffirming its strong commitment to promoting eye health, early detection of vision problems, and ensuring accessible eye care for children and communities. School eye screening plays a vital role in identifying undiagnosed visual impairments at an early age conditions that often affect children’s learning, confidence, and overall development. By bringing these services directly to schools, CSHM is helping students receive timely care, preventing long-term complications, and supporting their academic success.
During this impactful activity, 104 students and 14 adults were screened, ensuring that no child’s vision concern went unnoticed. A total of 27 students received telemedicine consultations with eye specialists, enabling expert assessment without the need for hospital visits. Additionally, 12 individuals were provided free eyeglasses on the spot, and 18 students were recommended for further vision correction to improve their reading, learning outcomes, and daily functioning.
Through such initiatives, CSHM Hospital Gujrat continues to play a transformative role in community health bridging gaps in access, raising awareness about the importance of eye care, and empowering young learners with the clear vision they need to thrive.
